Birthday Invitaion

How to make cute shirt invites for your little one's birthday party?

For all Moms, the first birthday of their little ones are always special. Shiwaa is going to be one year old by this April and I am so excited about his first birthday!!! I share the idea of how I made the invitations for his birthday party!!

Things Needed:

  • Card stock papers/ chart paper of any colour
  • Foam sheet with glitters
  • Scissors
  • Glue Gun

Procedure:

For making the Shirt:

Cut the Chart paper into 10X3 inches rectangle and fold it like a card. Now make a small cut approx 1 inch below.

Fold it like a collar and do not glue it.

Making of Tie:

Cut a rectangle of 9cms from the foam sheet. Draw the shape of the tie at the backside of the foamsheet and cut according to that.
Now glue the tie to the shirt and then glue the collar of the shirt over the tie.
Have your writings inside.

Handmade invites are always special. Moreover, those invites makes the celebration more special for your loved ones. Am I right?? :)

Art from waste

SPOON HOLDER

Families with baby have these milk powder tins and they go waste to the dustbins. Some of us use the tinned veggies or tomato puree that are available in stores and these once opened is of no use since it don't have a lid. Lets make a spoon holder out of it that looks pretty artistic which will  catch your neighbour's eyes as they enter our kitchen.

Spoon holder

Things needed:

  • Empty tin
  • Acrylic paint
  • brush
  • varnish

Method:

  • Peel off the paper/stickers around the tin and let it stay in hot water for sometime which will remove any residue left out.
  • Dry the tin and start painting your own design on it using the acrylic paint and you know acrylic paints dry faster, so do it faster if you want to do some washing technique as I did in this. (Refer picture)
  • Let it dry for sometime and apply Varnish over it, which protects the paint from getting washed out when in contact with water.

You can use this as a spoon holder, toothbrush holder or like a pen stand on the table. Enjoy making it and let me know your comments....
